On the lines of #MeToo, a group of 15 people started the #MenToo movement. The group asked men to speak openly about their sexual abuse at the hands of women. These people include a former French diplomat, who was acquitted by a court in a matter of sexual assault in 2017.

#MenToo movement started on Saturday by the NGO Children’s Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting (Crisp). Crisp national president Kumar V said that the group will fight for sexual neutral laws. They demanded that those who file false cases under the #MeToo campaign should be punished.

Referring to #MeToo as a good movement, he said that it should not be misused to implicate anyone by making false allegations. He said, “The result of this movement has come out in the form of tarnishing the respect of the people who have earned a lot of hard work.”

Talking to journalists in Bangalore later, he said that in the #MeToo where victims of women are talking about sexual harassment done decades ago, in contrast, recent events will be raised in the #MenToo movement.

On the issue of #MeToo movement, he said that if the case of sexual harassment is true then the victims should resort to legal action instead of coming to the social media.

Pascal said, “Men have real suffering … they are also victims, but they are not openly open against women and their miscreants.” They said, “We make laws to protect women. This is a good thing, but we should not forget that half of humanity is a man. ‘

Pascal is facing a court battle because his wife had moved the Karnataka High Court against the decision of the lower court to acquit them.
